Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Head of eBook Business Unit to lead the development, growth, and management of our digital publishing division. This role involves full ownership of the eBook business lifecycle—from ideation and production to distribution, marketing, and sales optimization. The ideal candidate will bring strong digital publishing expertise, team leadership, and commercial insight to scale our eBook portfolio across platforms and markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the overall strategy for the eBook business unit aligned with company goals

  • Oversee the end-to-end production pipeline, including content planning, editorial, design, formatting, and publishing

  • Lead platform strategy for Amazon KDP, Google Books, Apple Books, Kobo, and other global digital channels

  • Manage pricing, promotional planning, seasonal campaigns, and category targeting to maximize sales and visibility

  • Establish partnerships with authors, publishers, digital retailers, and distribution platforms

  • Recruit, lead, and manage cross-functional teams including marketers, content creators, designers, and sales staff

  • Analyze market trends, competitor performance, reader behavior, and sales data to guide product and marketing decisions

  • Monitor platform algorithm updates and ensure compliance with evolving publishing standards

  • Drive innovation through the adoption of AI tools, automation, or new technologies in digital publishing

  • Prepare executive reports, forecasts, and performance reviews for senior leadership

  • Build and manage the unit’s P&L, budgets, KPIs, and ROI-based decisions

Required Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in digital publishing, online media, or eCommerce (at least 2–3 years in a leadership role)

  • Proven track record of scaling eBook sales or managing high-volume digital content portfolios

  • Deep knowledge of Amazon KDP, Apple Books, Google Play Books, or related platforms

  • Strong background in digital marketing, SEO, metadata strategy, and user acquisition for digital products

  • Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects, cross-functional teams, and vendor relations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Publishing, Digital Media, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Specialized training or certifications in digital publishing, content strategy, or platform-based advertising (e.g., Amazon Ads, Meta Ads, SEO)

  • MBA or leadership training is a plus

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have a successful portfolio or demonstrable impact on eBook growth, sales, or audience development

  • Willingness to work across time zones as needed for platform or partner coordination

  • Familiarity with copyright, ISBN management, and digital rights management (DRM) protocols is an asset
