Job Description:

Title: Project Manager

Reports to: Head of Organization

Contractual Terms: Full-time Basis Employee

Project: Citizens’ Education and Mobilization for Women’s Voter Registration and Participation in Electoral Processes.

 

Terms of Reference Project Manager (PM)

1.       Project Design, Coordination and Implementation:

§  Act as a Full time focal person for all project activities and correspondence related to the respective grant cycle.

§  Ensure prompt correspondence over phone and email with CVP focal person during business hours.

§  Manage the implementation of all activities and initiatives related women NIC and voter registration to ensure timely and effective results.

§  Ensure all activity reports and deliverables are timely, complete adhere to the defined quality standards and are submitted at designated online system promptly. 

§  Ensure hiring/recommendation of high quality and qualified candidates for Social Mobilizers, Data Entry Operators (DEOs) and Volunteers.

§  The Statement of Work (SOW) will be elaborated in trainings provided by TDEA. PM will be responsible for implementation of activities as per these elaborations.

 

2.       Management and Supervision:

§  Of Social Mobilizers, Data Entry Operators (DEOs) and Volunteers including review and approval of their deliverables.

§  Ensure that detailed work plans are being implemented by his/her team and any changes are promptly notified to TDEA for approval.

§  Prepare the Weekly Chronicle, Event Calendar and Monthly Progress Reports and other reports as required under SOW, and timely submit it to TDEA after approval of the Head of Partner Organization.

§  Facilitate and conduct orientation and time to time capacity building activities for the project team.

 

3.       Financial Management:

§  Manage budgets, expenditures and expenditure projections related to the assigned project.

§  Manage the effective implementation of the work plan as per the available budget.

 

4.       Capacity Building:

 

§  Ensure performance standards as delineated by TDEA are met for all team members in designated districts/constituencies.

§  Provide logistical support for women transportation to NADRA centers and Public events on Voter registration theme as required by TDEA.

 

5.       Monitoring and Evaluation:

§  Conduct regular visits to the assigned districts/constituencies to monitor project activities.

§  Advise the staff on areas of program strengthening and guide staff about remedial actions in a timely manner. 

 

6.       General

§  Responsible for timely implementation of any changes in TDEA designed methodology.

§  Support TDEA with other requests for information and logistical requirements.

 

Desired Qualifications:

§  Not a known supporter, worker or office bearer of any political party. Must not be a part of election campaign of any candidate.

§  Preferably have experience in managing (or at least working) with a NIC and Voter registration project.

§  Familiarity with code of conduct and procedural requirements of NADRA.

§  Pakistani national, fluent in written and spoken English, Urdu and Pashtu. 

§  Understanding of local languages, Knowledge of geographical area and cultural values would be preferable.

§  Master’s Degree in any related discipline.

§  At least 5 years’ experience in project management, social mobilization, research and advocacy.

§  Experience in preparing budgets for small and large scale projects and managing a diverse team of personnel.

§  Proficiency in use of computers, including online applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and excellent typing skills in English. 

§  Excellent communication skills and experience in writing donor reports.

Company Description:
Sustainable Development Society (SDS) is a non for profit non-government organization. SDS has previously worked under the name of Shangla Development Society since 1997. Starting its work in 1997 at District Shangla, a remote, under developed and poverty stricken district in Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa province, the organization served the local communities on voluntary basis without getting any funds from any donor or charities till 2001. In 2001, the SDS was contacted by some local funding organization for political participant of women as well as awareness raising regarding adult franchise. Likewise SDS continue small funding project for health and hygiene and natural disasters. After the devastating earth quack in 2005 SDS was contacted and funded by some major international donors including Oxfam International, World Food Program, UNICEF and Greek Red Cross etc. for relief and rehabilitation of the people at district Shangla and district Kohistan. Apart from that SDS continue to get funding in other sectors like alternate energy, livelihood, disaster risk reduction, infrastructure, irrigation, health, education, water and sanitation and expended its outreach to district Swat, Swabi, Mardan, Manshera, Abbottabad and Kohistan. After the rise of militancy and military operation in 2007 SDS entered into a new but dangerous phase of its activities. Most of the non-profit organization ceased their activities but SDS continued to operate and serve the people. Many of its staff members were tortured and threaten to stop their work and activities. Even SDS was forced to relocate its offices but it continued to help the people through funding from different donors. After widening its scope of work and outreach beyond district Shangla, Shangla Development Society was renamed as Sustainable Development Society in 2008. SDS is currently actively involved in the socio-economic uplift of the inhabitants of the whole province. SDS intends to support wellbeing of the people of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa through strengthening sustainable development, peace, democratic process and inter and intra communal harmony.

To work for sustainable development and assist the people in promoting peace, social justice and good governance.

SDS promotes participatory approach to bridge the gap between people, government and policy makers for sustainable development within and across generations.
